Usually an album being a success is considered a good thing, but whenever Apostrophe (‘) is discussed, the mentioning of it being Zappa’s “most commercially successful album” always sounds like an insult. Even when it is called “accessible” it doesn’t sound like a good thing. Well, I disagree. While it is good to be tested by any art, to be pushed to think and to concentrate, it’s good to just enjoy it. So that’s where I see Saint Alfonzo’s Pancake Breakfast and the rest of the Don’t Eat The Yellow Snow Suite – as Frank Zappa saying “come on it, and don’t worry, there won’t be a test at the end of this”.
