Nostalgia is a great thing. A couple of decades on & a shambles like the Stone Roses' Spike Island gig becomes Woodstock for the Baggy Generation. Poorly organised, ropey sound.... so what? 27,000 indie kids having the time of their life & the Stone Roses at the top of their game, means that Spike Island will go down in folklore. The follow-up in Glasgow may well have been the better show, but it wasn't held on a toxic waste dump - and let's face it, toxic waste dumps are cool places to hold concerts. This Stone Roses Spike Island T-shirt should also look better on a gracefully ageing indie kid than the original baggy look....
