Phil Lynott's ode to the hotel run by his mother in 60s and 70s that became legendary in the North East music scene. While the infamous and mythological Dinos Bar & Grill and even Johnny's Place became more synonymous with Thin Lizzy, Manchester's Clifton Grange Hotel was the song-referenced venue that really did exist and really did play a huge part in Thin Lizzy's and Phil Lynott's history. And to prove how rock n' roll Philomena Lynott was when the Sex Pistols' Anarchy Tour came through the city in 1976, the Clifton Grange was the only place that would let them stay.
