Prior to 2002, not being from that part of the word, none of us had a clue who or what "Black Shuck" is/was. But we sure did as soon as we'd heard Justin Hawkins scream "That Dog Don't Give A F*ck" (which for those of you non-classical scholars, is what the Latin text days) as it kicked off what is still my favourite album of the noughties (closely followed by The Mooney Suzuki's Alive & Amplified). So with that fine English tradition of naming pubs, inns and taverns after local icons, we thought that the Black Shuck Tavern was a place we'd want to hang out and get drunk at.
