With Live and Let Die, Roger Moore showed that he was going to take Bond in a very different direction to Sean Connery and he backed it up in Man With The Golden Gun. Yes, it was panned at the time, but in retrospect, unfairly so. Christopher Lee was a superb villain and by taking a step down from the primary antagonist being an arch supervillain with seemingly limitless resources, it quite possibly rescued the series from plunging headfirst into parody. Personally, I think it stands up pretty well today, so let’s head off to Hong Kong and the beautifully titled, Bottoms Up Club.
